During my first year in college, my best friend and I were arrested for minor in consumption walking home from a party at our fraternity. I’m about to graduate and am afraid it will hurt my chances of landing my dream job. He was able to get the conviction expunged from his record. What does it mean to get a record expunged?

For minor alcohol convictions you can have those expunged through the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Code. If you have more than one minor alcohol offense you may be able to have it sealed through the new non-disclosure law if the expungement option is not available. But either way it looks like you are good to go in one way or another.
