Renting a House with a Class C Misdemeanor

Tuesday, Oct 11, 2016 by Brian Laviage

Hi! I’m looking to rent a house with a few roommates, but I’m worried that a previous Class C Misdemeanor for Public Intoxication will be an issue with potential landlords. I received the citation, payed the fine, and my application for deferred disposition was granted and the probation period ends within the next month. Will this affect my ability to rent a house with my friends? Am I eligible for getting my record expunged? Thanks for the help!

Hi Justin. I doubt this will be a problem. However for future jobs, college applications, and the like, you may want to get this expunged.
